Luckily Win Toolkit syncs and sorts the various updates into folders for better organization. It should take 1- 2 hours to download.
Once they're all downloaded, you can go back into your Win Toolkit folder and they will all be listed under Updates. Close the Update Catalog window once you've finished downloading the updates you need.
At the main screen, under basic tab, click All- In- One Integrator. If you have a Window 7 disc you'd like to use instead, select Browse for extracted DVD. Since I downloaded the Windows 7 ISO, I'll use Browse for specific WIM. Using your favorite file archiver (I prefer 7- zip), extract all the files into a new folder. When you browse for the WIM, it is listed under \sources\install. Then select your OS edition. If you have a preset, click Load Preset.
Otherwise click Skip (No Preset). From here, you can do a variety of things. Under the basic tab, you can integrate drivers, Windows Updates, and add- ons. Under the advanced tab, you can permanently remove various things and tweak the OS to how you want it post- install. I leave everything in the options tab alone. Okay, so you want to have a slimmer and faster OS?
I've gone through countless installs, re- tweaking and making sure nothing was . You can download my preset - HERE- . But note that I have such things as Windows Media Player, lots of networking options, and some theme packs removed. If you need any of that, unselect it. Lets first integrate all of those Windows Updates we downloaded earlier. Then click Add Updates.
Navigate to the Updates folder. Select the first update you see all the way to the end and click Open. Give it a minute or so to add them. If you want Internet Explorer 9 (Windows 7), navigate into Additional\KB9. Internet. Explorer.
Add IE9- win. 7. msu as well as any updates found in that folder. I would also advise on integrating Windows. Update. Agent to your update list. It is found under Additional\Windows. Update. Agent\7. 6. Those other additional updates are optional and the folder labeled, Not integratable to Offline image, means that it cannot be integrated as they will cause an error during OS install.
I haven't tried integrating Addons or drivers since they're constantly being updated. Depending on how many things you added or selected to be removed and the system you're using, it could take anywhere from 3.
Mine takes about an hour on average with my Core i. K and San. Disk Extreme SSD. Once it's finished, exit All- In- One Integrator. I usually save an ISO for save keeping (click on ISO Maker). Otherwise the files are ready to be carried over to a bootable USB stick.
